SCIMITAR – This one happens to be the Arthur style dagger guard (305) mounted on our fight worthy scimitar blade - [$33.89], but almost any sword or dagger guard can be used, so let your imagination run free. Price will vary according to the guard style chosen.

800 - KATANA - plain - a strong, light-weight, very responsive weapon. The Japanese style of fighting used very little parrying, but our sword is built for the western bashing style. Each sword is different in guard and grip. Please note: These practical swords do not have wrapped grips, and use a threaded tang, They are therefore not traditional, but are built for stage combat.              fight-worthy sabre blade – [$36.70]

Kill Bill: Bill's Sword

804 - KATANA (costume grade) – These tourist wall hangings make great props (when you make sure that the actors never strike anything with them). -  [$ 8.00]

H53 - BOKKEN – Which is Japanese for "wooden sword", designed as a training tool for samurai, but is a surprisingly effective weapon on its own. Red oak (when sold to Westerners, it often comes with a cheap plastic guard, but we've removed them so as to match the historically correct look). -  [$ 7.00]

H54 - SHINAI – Also Japanese, but used for the completely distinct style of sport fencing known as Kendo. Made of thin strips of bamboo tied together, it makes a satisfying slap-stick like sound on contact. -  [$ 7.00]

    674- JANISSARY - typical of the Turkish/Persian sword, with either a curved or straight blade.     costume  – [$23.37]    epee – [$24.63]    schlaeger – [$33.26]    curved sabre or briquet cutlass – [$46.95]    vorpal – [$48.00]

628- SULYUK SHAMSHIR - a lovely brass hilt on a traditional curved sabre blade, found wherever Indo-Persian armies fought.     costume only – [$24.63]

624 – MAMELUKE – can actually be fought with, against either an epee or schlaeger bladed weapons. The sword is named for the Egyptian Mamluks, who adopted the style as their primary weapons. By the 18th century it was widely copied by Western armies. This particular sword (and we only have one) is a true antique - Peruvian army, 1880. No scabbard.  – [$24.63]

661- PERSIAN FANTASY SCIMITAR - We in the western world tend to believe that the scimitar blade is very fat at the cutting end, but that is a Victorian era fantasy. Still, we have made a few using aluminum blades.  2 Ό lbs;   26" blade length;   33" overall  costume only – [$33.26]

857 - SINBAD'S CUTLASS -  These massive, ugly beasts of a weapon are also fight worthy, each made of one solid piece of iron. That's right, cast iron.  Weighs 2 ½ lbs, 21" blade, and 26" long overall.     – [$18.00]

787 - KUKRI – the traditional weapon of the Gurkas ; 11" blade length on these knives   - [$11.16]

786 - BEHEADING KUKRI – Not usually used as a fighting weapon, but more often for ceremonial beheading of domestic animals for holy days ; We only have one of these, with a blade length of 24" - [$30.00]

    811 – KINDJAL – a Cossack weapon; 18" blade length    dress piece only. costume – [$12.63]

H88 – CYBORG NIGHT STICK - pure fantasy, anticipating an escalating police response in a more violent future. All steel. Really fun for experienced choreographers who can incorporate all of the modern police side bar techniques.   [$23.00]

936 - PANOPLY of FIFE – a full length [31"] single hand broadsword blade strapped to one arm, while the other arm directs the parrying wing, which is also a wicked slashing tool. Whether the two weapons are left together or separated while in battle, this is a whole lot of weapon that can take on armies. Shorter blade lengths are also available. [$54.78]

When the long blade is strapped to the right arm, the right elbow can normally ride anchored on the right hip for most moves. If the left foot is forward, a driving right foot pass becomes a formidable thrust without having to extend the arm. Turning from the hip can also provide cutting motions and blocks.

The left hand manages the parrying wing. Don’t screw it on too tight – you’ll want the wing to pivot freely for catching incoming attacks. It becomes almost second nature with this weapon to turn left into an incoming attack on the left side, thereby blocking with the wing and simultaneously attacking with the long blade.

Remember also that the wing can be detached at any time in the fight (surprise!) and used as a single-hand ax and the long blade as a traditional broadsword.
