FIREARMS for RENT Whether blank-fire or simply props, these are not real guns. We are NOT a gun store. We have no gunsmithing or repair services for modern firearms, and we do not purchase real modern firearms and then decommission them. California (where we are) is an extremely restrictive gun state, and even non-firing replicas of most modern guns are now very difficult for us to get. With almost all of our guns, there is no muzzle flash possible. If you need specific modern gun replicas that we don't carry, follow this link for the phone numbers of some places that can help. Are you making a film? Then click the highlight. [Doing a production of Assassins? Follow this link for some options.] Our firearms might be available in one or more of the following categories: Props are simple reproductions with few or no moving parts. Many are previously broken items which have been fused closed and many have missing parts but are as cheap a rental as is humanly possible. Rolf, for example, in the Sound of Music needs only to point a gun, so a prop version is fine. Working-props have some working parts which can simulate some of the action but do not fire blanks. If a character needs to pretend to load a gun or work the action of a gun, a working-prop is required rather than just a prop. Be sure and let us know exactly what action you anticipate the actor will need to do. Blank-fire can make noise, but the barrel has usually been blocked so that there is no discharge down the barrel, therefore no flame effect (muzzle-flash) either.
Percussion firearms use a percussion cap, which can be fired on its own or in conjunction with blackpowder for more smoke and fury. No blocked barrels, so the hot gases and whatever else is in the barrel is going to fly out when fired. We can’t ship blackpowder, so you’ll need to buy that locally. Never fired a percussion firearm? Follow this link = percussion True firearms , we don't carry them. Whether firing or not, they are covered by many state and federal laws restricting their even temporary transfer. All laws must be adhered to and forms must be completed before anyone can ship a modern firearm, and this can mean a minimum of five days to two weeks before a gun can be released. Substantial transaction fees required, and even then these weapons can only be shipped to a registered federal firearms license holder - even if they are non-firing or blank-firing. All of which is why we no longer provide true firearms. What about "non-guns"? Follow this link What about "cap-guns"?
