KNIVES for rent [Rental prices below are for the first 30 days.] Photos are to illustrate guard only. Grip and pommel will change with each order
Do you need only the knife, or some way to attach it to the actor as well? Once you're done selecting the hilt and blade, take a look at our leather goods rental section, which has sashes, belts, frogs and scabbards
sorry, we do not have the blood razor for "Sweeny Todd", but - J&M Special Effects now makes a good line of blood knives, including the Sweeney Todd razors
measurements listed are for blade length only - not overall size
377 LARGE FOLDER same as above, but a straight blade. limited availability [$6.74]
394 - BOWIE - "Bowie" has become a generic title given to several knife styles which have very little in common with each other. No one can say for sure what the first one looked like, but all shared the same characteristics of being big, single edged, and meant for gutting a human being. Here are some variations. [$13.26]
[for information on how to keep these working a little longer, click this link]
older styles
361- BONNY SCOTTISH DIRK - a large weapon with an almost prehistoric look, it is the evolution of the ballock, and still part of the highlanders dress uniform. [$14.74]
small knives 381 BUTTERFLY KNIFE with a little practice, opens flashily with one hand [although it can rap your knuckles]. Also limited availability because of restrictions in California. [$7.00]
370 BOOT DAGGER - (no image available, because there is really no such animal) blade length varies, but usually about 3". Everyone believes that a boot dagger is going to be a really cool addition to a show, but boot daggers are very small (so they won't rub against the ankle) and when held by actors are nearly invisible to the audience (it looks like the character is just pointing angrily.) - Helpful hint: If you have been told that it is absolutely critical to the show to have a boot dagger, do two things before ordering. 1) go to the costumer and find out what the maximum overall knife length can be. In other words, how much space do you have to house the knife. Then 2) take a ruler onstage and show the director what different blade lengths look like when stuck out of someone's hand. This way you'll find out the minimum blade length the director can be happy with. Somewhere between this minimum blade length and maximum overall length is the info you need to place the order. We'll try to put something together that falls within your request.
