[Prices are for the first 30 days.] Frogs/Hangers (A frog is an open leather pocket that serves as a connecting holder between the belt and the scabbard, but can be used on its own to hold an exposed sword. Preferred for fight shows. But not every sword works well with a frog. For example, a Gossamer Swept Hilt fitted with a light epee or even a schlaeger blade will topple out of a frog, so may need a full steel scabbard. Call and ask.)
Scabbards and Sheaths ... not shown but also available
Is there a difference? Well, although either will completely cover the blade of an edged weapon, a sheath is made of soft or flexible material (leather or fabric), while a scabbard must have a rigid backing (steel or wood) Unfortunately, we dont have much discretion when choosing blade coverings. We try to accommodate specific requests, but usually the sword has the final say on what it will or will not enter. More often than not, when you choose a blade, it chooses the scabbard.
The following is a quick run-down of 30-day rental costs for some scabbard/sheath examples:
sheath - dagger -$3.20
sheath - shortsword -$5.60
sheath - broadsword -$5.60
scabbard - sabre/steel -$4.80
scabbard - sabre/deluxe -$9.60
