SMALLSWORDS for rent

("what kind of blade do I need?") blade choices

Do you need only the sword, or some way to attach it to the actor as well? Once you're done selecting the hilt and blade, take a look at our  leather goods  rental section, which has sashes, belts, frogs and scabbards.

Most hilts can be fitted with different blades  - prices are for the first 30 days rental per sword when outfitted with the corresponding blade. The sword you receive may have a different grip or pommel than that shown in the photo.

     - SWORD CANES – sorry, are no longer available. [The ones we kept purchasing from overseas are simply too weak and too short to be of any practical use, and more and more states are making them illegal.]

281 - SWAN – The height of 18th century design, this type of sword is also a work of art. A nobleman would wear this sword as a badge of his status in society, as a reflection of his refined taste, and as a message to all that he is to be feared!

dress – [$21.91]    epee or demi-epee – [$25.22]    schlaeger – [$36.52]    vorpal – [$42.26]  sabre or briquet cutlass – [$43.48]

280 - CHEVALIER - a beautiful smallsword, all steel hand protection.

dress – [$20.00]    epee or demi-epee – [$23.30]    schlaeger – [$33.61]    vorpal – [$40.35]   sabre or cutlass – [$41.57]

261 - VALMONT - The most recognizable smallsword hilt style. Classic and elegant.        costume – [$20.42]    epee or demi-epee – [$24.42]

262 - LOUIS - ornate court sword, manganese-bronze. Can be outfitted with fight worthy blade. As with most traditional smallswords, the forefinger cannot loop through the arms of the hilt, so a French grip is used.        costume – [$23.79]    epee or demi-epee – [$27.79]

266 - ROYAL - all brass, quite simple. Most smallswords intended for use were no more ornate than this.        costume – [$28.00]    epee or demi-epee – [$32.00]    vorpal – [$52.63]    schlaeger – [$45.68]

265 - NAPOLEON - beautiful dress court sword. Given by Napoleon to himself. (You can do that when you’re an emperor) costume only . These are actually the perfect swords to use for the Highland sword dance in Brigadoon– [$15.65]

267 – CSA OFFICER - military swords, even if thin-bladed, were really sabres, so some plays are better served by combining sabre hilts with smallsword blades (Zorro perhaps?) This hilt works well with thin dueling blades.

costume – [$19.58]    epee or demi-epee – [$23.58]    vorpal – [$44.21]     schlaeger – [$37.26]
